Parish of Lousã

´

Town Hall Building: it is dated 1930/1934 and it was designed by the architect Moura Coutinho in the 18 th century architecture style.

Pillory: an Alveite red stone column with a pine cone in the top in which we can see human faces joined to each other.

Dr. Alcino Simões Lopes Monument: from the sculpture J. Reis Duarte, it was inaugurated in 1982.

Church: it is dated 1882 and its patron saint is Saint. Sylvester.

Misericórdia Chapel: It is dated 1568 and it is the oldest building preserved in Lousã.

Salazares Palace or Viscountess of Espinhal Palace: It is dated 19 th century and it is the place were Mélia Palace of Lousã Boutique Hotel is situated.

Saint Bento House: It was built in the early 20 th century and its architect was Raúl Lino.

House at the Top of Rua Nova (Almeidas Serras): with baroque style, it is dated 18th century.

House at the bottom of Rua Nova (Almeidas Serras): it is dated 18th century and it was remodelled in the second half of the 20th century.

Quinta do Cano House (Furtado Mesquita): it is dated 18th century and it had belonged to the Count of Foz-de-Arouce.

Fundo da Vila House or Capitão-Mor House: it is dated 18th century.

Saint Rita House or Farmhouse of the Rivers: it is dated 18th century and belongs to Magalhães Mexia Family.

Comendador Montenegro House: it is dated 19th century.

Lagartixa House: it was the studio and the residence of the artist Carlos Reis.

Serra da Lousã Ecomuseum - Dr. Louzã Henriques Ethnographic Museum (Research Nucleus): renovated and adapted municipal building where it is placed the Dr. Louzã Henriques ethnographic collection. It has exhibition and conference spaces

Sá Carneiro Square: fountain and medallion in honour of Sá Carneiro. Fernando Pedro conceived the idea of the monument and Alves Pinheiro was the sculptor. It was inaugurated on 25th April, 1998.

Family Monument: it was inaugurated on January, 1999 and the author is Fernando Pedro.

Carlos Reis Park: recreational space with restaurant, bar, playground and an open air municipal swimming-pool.

Cândido dos Reis Square Railway Station: it is dated 1906 and, to point out, there are the tile panels of Jorge Colaço.

Cine-theatre: it was inaugurated in 1947.

Fountain of the Dr. Pires de Carvalho Street: it was drawn by the artist Carlos Reis in 1932.

Count Ferreira Old School: it is dated 1868.

Justice Palace (Court): it is dated from the early 1980s. in the front it has a bronze low-relief from Joaquim Correia and, inside, it has a panel called "The Justice Sun", from Lima de Freitas.

Dr. José Cardoso Monument: it is dated 1972 and it is constituted by a bronze bust and a calcareous rock pedestal.

Lousã Mountain Arouce Castle: its construction probably dates back to the 11th century.

St. John's Chapel: it is dated 15th century.

Lord of Agony Chapel: it is dated 18th century.

Our Lady of Mercy Chapel: what we can see in our days is the result of a reform occurred in the 19th century.

Lord of the Desperate Chapel: with a new-romanesque style, it was built in 1912.

Natural Swimming Pools: bathed by the St. John´s Stream.

Arneiro View-point: observation point to Lousã and to the mountain slope.

Gevim View-point: observation point of the small town and of the surroundings to the Lord of the Mountain

Our Lady of Mercy View-point: observation point to the castle, to the hermitages and to the natural swimming pools.

Tarrasteira View-point: observation point to the Lord of the Mountain and to the Mountains of Montemuro, Boa Viagem, Buçaco e Caramulo.

Porto Pisão View-point: observation point to the castle and to the hermitages.

Vale Nogueira View-point: observation point to the mountain slope and of the surroundings to the Lord of the Mountain.

"Terreiro das Bruxas" Lunch Park.

"Casa dos Cantoneiros" Lunch Park.

Hydroelectric Central: it was responsible, in 1924, by the beginning of the electric lighting in Lousã.

New Bridge : it is dated 1661.

Cabril of Ceira : place whose beauty is given by a natural crack in the rock which causes a strait in the river.

Our Lady of Grace Beach River Boque Paper Factory : it is dated 19 th century and it was classified by IPPAR as Industrial Heritage.

Serra da Lousã Ecomuseum – Regional Desserts and Gastronomy Nucleus and Mirita Sales Olive Press : they are, respectively, the place where regional desserts and gastronomy professional courses are taught and a renovated press, inaugurated in 2000.

Count of Fejô House : it is dated 19 th century.
